FLO, a national body working towards women empowerment through promotion of entrpereneurship and managerial excellence, organised the trip given the steady growth of the Indian wine industry. The tour was held at Grover Vineyards in Bengaluru.
“Wine is an exciting industry for Indian women. Women are changing the way wine is sold. Wine is the most popular drink among women, with 52 percent naming it as their favourite beverage. Today there are many women in the industry, working as oenologists, in commercial roles, as winemakers”, said Rati Dhandhania Mundrey, Chairperson, FICCI FLO Bangalore.
The Indian wine industry is expected to grow at an annual rate of 27% and it clocked a consumption of 4 million in 2015.
