“Out of seven blocks alloted to states, one block Gourangdih ABC is given to West Bengal”, Coal Joint Secretary Vivek Bhardwaj said.
“Total 16 blocks have been earmarked for MSMEs, seven had been allotted to states and rest would be done shortly”, he said.
The state will in turn sell or give coal linkage to small industries and consumers.
The government deallocated the Gourangdih ABC mine, which was jointly given to JSW Steel and Himachal EMTA.
The Gourangdih ABC mine is located at Raniganj in Bengal and has 61.54 million tonnes of extractable reserves. The coal was meant for a power project.
Meanwhile, the state will also get 100 MW solar power investment out of 1000 MW solar capacity planned by Coal India to reduce carbon footprint for the company.
