Chhattisgarh gets a MSME centre in Durg district

A Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) technology center will be set up at Borai Industrial area in Durg district of Chhattisgarh.

Union Minister for MSME Kalraj Mishra on August 12 laid foundation stone for the MSME center or a tool room at village Rasmada. This MSME centre is the 12th in country to be set up in an area of 25 acres at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore.

The centre will facilitate training for MSME entrepreneurs and impart practical training to youth to handle technical equipment.

Union minister Kalraj Mishra said similar centres are being opened across the country in an effort to promote make in India and skill India campaign, a vision envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said these centres will play a vital role in industrial development.

Chief Minister Raman Singh said a large number of youth would be imparted training at this MSME centre and training programme would start in next couple of months. He expressed hope that the centre would play a significant role in employment generation. State Commerce and Industry Minister Amar Agrawal and state Higher Education Minister Prem Prakash Pandey were among those present.
