CM Vijay Rupani kicks off third regional MSME conclave

Gujarat is providing job opportunities to 28.36 lakh people through 3.76 lakh Micro, Medium and Small Enterprises, said Chief Minister Vijay Rupani as he kicked off the 3rd regional MSME conclave for western India in the presence of Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra, Minister of State Haribhai Chaudhary and Industries Ministers of Rajasthan, Goa and Gujarat.

“The state government’s cluster-based policy is the base of extensive development of MSME sector in Gujarat. We’ve initiated such 106 clusters viz. ceramic industry in Morbi and Thangadh, Textiles and Diamond Industries in Surat. We’ve initiated such clusters in districts such as Jamnagar, Bhavnagar and Bharuch,” said Rupani.

The Chief Minister asserted that Gujarat will emerge as a leader in the MSME sector to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make In India’ dream. Rupani was speaking at the western regional MSME conclave organized in Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, which was attended by the Union minister for micro, small & medium enterprises, Kalraj Mishra, minister of state Haribhai Chaudhary and industry ministers of Rajasthan, Goa and Gujarat.

Rupani said that Gujarat has initiated and succeeded in the experiment of MSME facilitation desk to simplify the process of permissions required for medium, micro and small scale industrialists. Such desks have functioning in regional sectors of Gujarat – Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Surat and Rajkot. “MSME sector of Gujarat plays an important role in the nation’s industrial sector. No less than 28.36 lakh people have been employed in 3.76 lakh MSME industries of Gujarat,” Rupani added.

Union small & medium industry Mnister Kalraj Mishra appreciated such regional conclave for effectiveness of schemes of other states and interaction. He said that since MSME sector is capable to provide new push to country’s development, partnership efforts are welcomed so that youth entrepreneurs are aware to start their small industry by being dependent.

He also elaborated the central government’s schemes for financial facilitation canters for financial assistance encouragement along with MSME data bank and also incubation canters for particular encouragement.
