Currency Switch Impact | TechProcess & NumberMall to bring cashless payments to kirana shops

TechProcess Payment Services, an electronic payments company, said on November 21 that it has partnered with NumberMall, an app-based payments platform for small merchants, which will enable 30,000 kirana shops to accept cashless payments.

NumberMall connects the kirana shops to manufacturers and brand owners directly by eliminating middlemen.

“Our platform will provide multiple payment options along with a smooth user interface and experience to all NumberMall users. The recent demonetization move has put impetus on transforming the country towards becoming a cashless economy. Through Paynimo, TechProcess’s digital payments platform, kirana stores will be able to opt for cashless transactions via NumberMall thereby providing ease of payments to consumers for their local grocery needs,” said Kumar Karpe, CEO, TechProcess Payment Services.

Following the withdrawal of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, retailers and consumers are both looking for alternatives to cash.

“Our partnership with TechProcess has been a game changer in unlocking the 70% of rural market in India. Today, almost 60% of our customers are transacting cashless through TechProcess,” said Kiran Gali, CEO, NumberMall.

TechProcess’s digital payments platform is a comprehensive multi-mode payment platform with over 185 payment modes including credit and debit card, net-banking and e-wallets while NumberMall is present across 650,000 villages by tech-enabling around 1.5 million kirana shops.
