Every Assembly segment in Andhra to have MSME parks: N Amaranatha Reddy

Visakhapatnam: The state government is mulling over developing MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) parks in every Assembly constituency in order to widen the scope of providing employment to the youth of the state, said Minister for Industries and Commerce N Amaranatha Reddy.

Talking to the reporters here on May 18 after a review meeting,  Amaranatha Reddy said the government will also set up food processing units across the state for the benefit of farmers. Both MSMEs and food processing units will create employment in a big way, he added.

“Our aim is to hasten the development of the state through big and small and medium industries,’’ he added. Reddy said 59 MoUs were signed during the last two partnership summits for an investment of Rs 93,000 crore and almost all the MoUs would be executed by the end of 2018.

He said 16 food processing units in north coastal Andhra would start trial production from 2018. These units would benefit the farmers in a big way, he added.The minister said in order to overcome sickness, an incentive of Rs 290 crore was being given to ferro alloys industries in the state. In 2016, the amount was Rs 272 crore.

A group of ministers will discuss the revival of sugar factories closed in Chittoor and Tummapala in Visakhapatnam district so that the dues could be paid to the farmers.Earlier, the minister visited Brandix India Apparel City, SEZ in Achyutapuram and APIIC one stop service centre along with industries secretary Solmon Arokiaraj, commissioner of industries Siddarth Jain, District Industries Centre General Manager A Ramalingeswara Rao, APIIC Executive Director K Subba Rao, APIIC Zonal Manager C Yathi Raju and other officials.
