The government on January 28, said it is focusing on improving ease of doing business for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to increase exports from the country.
“The focus of the government is on Ease of Doing Business so that entrepreneurs, particularly in the MSME sector, are freed from all complications so that they are facilitated in their efforts to increase exports,” MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra said while presenting CAPEXIL Export Awards 2012-13.
The Ministry has recently simplified the process of registration process for the sector by creating an online Udyog Aadhar Portal, an official statement quoting the minister said.
Online filing on this portal can be done in just three minutes to get registration without spending any money, he said, adding that more than 1,60,000 registrations have taken place within two months of launch of the portal.
Highlighting that the flow of credit to the MSME sector was of paramount necessity for increasing exports, Mishra said that provisions have been made for collateral free loan for an amount of up to Rs 1 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Secretary in the Commerce Ministry Arvind Mehta said the contribution of MSME was notable in ensuring a consistent growth in the exports from this sector notwithstanding an overall slowdown in the global economy.
