Indian start-ups head for WIEF’s Wharton India Startup Challenge 2018

Wharton India Economic Forum (WIEF) is all set and prepared for the 5th edition of Wharton India Startup Challenge (WISC) in which the final event will be held in January 5, 2018.

Wharton India Startup Challenge (WISC) will provide start-ups a platform to connect with the leading investors and industry experts in the Indian ecosystem.

The first deadline for submission of applications will be on September 17 and the second will be on October 15, 2017.

The startup challenge has 2 rounds, with 20 start-ups making it to the Pitch Day. More than 500 start-ups are applying for the programme out of which 50 will proceed to round 2. The company also has more than 20 investors, and in the past, start-ups have raised more than $50 million.

The top 10 get to pitch live on stage and the top 20 (including the top 10) also get a chance to be part of an exhibit, set up at the event venue, before an audience of investors and conference attendees.

Besides showcasing their start-ups before an audience of top investors and entrepreneurs, the startup challenge gives opportunity to participants to win cash prizes alongside access to exciting perks.

WISC targets the next generation of businesses serving the Indian market. As a hallmark of the 22nd WIEF conference, the prestigious Startup Challenge promotes entrepreneurship in India by providing a global platform for start-ups working on highly innovative and groundbreaking ideas targeted towards the Indian market.
