Kalraj Mishra inaugurates MSME-DI Tripura, announces Tech Centre for state

Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Kalraj Mishra inaugurated the MSME Development Institute (MSME-DI) and Mini Tool Room in Agartala on June 25. The Minister also announced the setting up of a Technology Centre, to usher in small scale industrial development of the state.

Mishra said the Central Government has approved Technology Centre for MSMEs of the state. The centre will benefit aspiring entrepreneurs by training them and also help the state’s youth in establishing MSME units.

The Minister informed, “An amount of Rs 20 crore will be released for this purpose aiming to provide new opportunities for the unemployed youths of the state.

He added, “Tripura is enriched with a variety of quality bamboo and bamboo artisans will be able to utilize the centre for improving quality of their products. Rubber growers will also be able to derive benefits from this centre and increase earnings.

Speaking on the occasion, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that the development of the state is possible only by way of collaboration among the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and the State and the Central Government.

Sarkar said that the institution will further generate employment, and self-enterprising initiatives and Self Help Groups will get a boost and grow stronger.

The Union MSME Minister also released third volume of success stories of incubatees at the event.
