Odisha CM launches AIM as a spur to ease of doing business among MSMEs

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched the online administration of incentives on September 15 at the state’s Secretariat in order to provide a helpful environment for MSME entrepreneurs.

The centre has also considered Odisha as a leader for facilitating reforms for ease of doing business in the state.

According to a source, Naveen Patnaik said, “The online Administration of Incentives for MSMEs (AIM) is a step forward to promote 3 T’s – Technology, Transparency and Teamwork – in public service delivery.”

MSME entrepreneurs now onwards will be able to apply for various incentives under Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) and MSME Policy online, he added.

From 2011 to 2012, 973 MSME units have been given incentives of 80.50 crore out of which 22,200 employment have generated in the state.

The Chief Minister is hopeful that the web application AIM will ease the administration of incentives benefiting more MSME entrepreneurs.

The MSME Department has made provisions for different incentives under the MSMED Policy and the OFP Policy for the MSMEs. Earlier, the applicants were to apply to the concerned RICs / DIC for availing these benefits, Patnaik said. “Now, with the launch of the AIM, the entrepreneurs can apply for incentives online and avail the benefits within defined timeframe,” the Chief Minister added.
