Odisha Govt. to come up with a new Entrepreneurship Policy in Feb 2016

The Odisha Government would soon come up with a new Entrepreneurship Development Policy in February with an aim to help out the entrepreneurs in the State.

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Department is in process of finalizing the policy, Industry sources said.

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi while reviewing MSME Department functioning has asked the department to revive the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (IED) for the sake of entrepreneurs.

Stressing on more job opportunities, the Chief Secretary has asked the officials to chalk out strategy to promote 1.5 lakh enterprises in the State in next four years with employment opportunities for four lakh youths.

As per records, 32,938 MSMEs have been promoted till date in the State generating employment opportunities for over one lakh youths.

It was revealed in the meeting that 36,000 MSMEs would be set up nest financial year and 38,000 units in 2017-18. During 2018-19, the target was fixed at 42,000 enterprises.
