Plea to expedite release of incentives to MSMEs

B.V. Rama Rao, Chairman, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation of India (MSMEDCI) said that the State governments have not been releasing promised incentives within the stipulated time to the MSMEs.

Rao said that though the State governments offer various kinds of incentives to MSMEs to attract them to set up units, they would not release the incentives on time and finally when they do, it would be just enough to pay the interest on bank loans. Urging the State governments to allot land, provide electricity and water connection, supply of power without collecting deposit up to 140 HP transformer and service lines, he also suggested that the power subsidy given every month be adjusted in the monthly electricity bills.

He said that the Central office of MSMEDCI would be opened at Visakhapatnam on March 4.
