The PGCL, in turn, would reimburse the employee a sum of Rs 3,000 on presentation of original Khadi India cash memo. The scheme is valid up to 31st December 2016 to all the 10,283 employees of PGCL on presentation of original valid ID card at the sales counters of Khadi India Outlets.
“The agreement will be a win-win situation for both KVIC and PGCL’s employees as the KVIC will benefit because it would be able to sell products worth Rs. 4.32 crore to 10,283 PGCL employees by 31st December which will generate 86,000 extra man hours for Khadi artisans, while the PGCL staff will benefit because they will get to buy Khadi products worth Rs. 4,200 each free of cost,” said KVIC Chairman, VK Saxena.
KVIC has recently recorded a sale of Rs. 6.18 crore from the India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan in Delhi were 200 stalls of various Khadi product from the across the country were set up. This marks an increase of 12.15 percent over last year’s sale of Rs. 5.51 crore.
