SMEpost.com & WASME forge strategic alliance; announce Super SME Awards 2016 India

February 27, 2016 | World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) the first Indian global civil society organization representing SMEs in the global landscape and SMEpost.com, arguably India’s first SME sector focussed digital media platform have signed a Memorandum of Understanding  in WASME Noida office today.

Both will collaborate to build a global SME Awards property that will celebrate SME Success Stories that have scored big through innovative thinking, operational efficiency, futuristic strategies, smart marketing and quality of products and services.

Sampa Banerjee, Executive Director, WASME said “As a global organisation, WASME has always worked towards creating mechanisms to assess and facilitate international networking and trade opportunities for MSMEs. We are happy to partner with SMEpost.com to jointly build this global SME property. We will kick start with Super SME Awards India edition. Going forward, we will take this award to other countries as well”.

WASME has been at the forefront as a strategic resource centre for MSMEs; facilitating SME access to best business practices and financial assistance through online/offline training, technology transfer, and business consultation.

Putting the initiative in perspective, Raktim Das speaking on behalf of SMEpost.com said “For its contribution to Indian GDP (9% and expected to rise significantly in the next 3 years), the share of voice of the SME sector in the mainstream media has traditionally been abysmally low. I am told SMEpost.com through its various avatars and by leveraging the power of the digital media aims to give the sector not only its due voice but also help it build scale.  Super SME Awards, I am sure is an initiative in this direction”.

“We hope that the Super SME Awards will spur healthy competition among SMEs. Apart from being a celebration of SME Success Stories, the idea is to develop this property as a global thought leadership platform that addresses key challenges & opportunities, facilitates Country-2-Country SME connect, and fosters best practices that can build SME competitiveness”, Das added.
