“About 2.16 lakh people got employment through micro, small and medium enterprises in the last three years after Chandrababu Naidu took over the reins of the state. We have attracted nearly Rs.19193 crore of investment through these units,” explained Amarnatha Reddy. He said that the government had allocated Rs.160 crore for providing assistance to reopening of the units closed in the MSME sector. Minister explained that Centre’s decision to set up coastal employment zone between Nellore-Chittoor would be a boon to the state. He said that they would be getting more such prestigious projects to the state. He said that development of Visakhapatnam-Chennai industrial corridor was one of such mega projects that are coming to the state.
He said that ADB had agreed to give Rs.5500 crore, other financial institutions Rs.4000 crore for development of Visakhapatnam-Chennai corridor. He said that the state government would spend around Rs.1500 crore on the project. Minister said that they would deploy AP skill development corporation teams in all the engineering colleges to train the graduates to meet the requirements of the industries that are coming up in the state. Reddy said that CM had taken a crucial decision to make the districts to compete with each other by deciding to announce district level ranks on Ease of Doing Business (EoDB).
He said that AP had already secured the top slot in EoDB and wanted to make all the districts achieve similar results in the sector. He said that AP has been found most favoured destination for setting up industries as they were granting as many as 39 permissions in just 21 days and 34 permissions in just 10-15 days.
