Hyderabad Angels invests Rs. 15 crore in 12 start-ups

Hyderabad Angels has committed investments to the tune of Rs. 15 crore in 12 start-ups in the financial year. “We have either deployed or are in the process of deploying the committed investments in the start-ups,”said Pradeep Mittal, Chairman.

The network has about 100 investors from India, the US, Japan and Singapore. “About 75 per cent of them are active with at least one or more investment. The number of investors in the network is growing at an annual rate of 20 per cent. We are planning to increase the number by 50 per cent this year,” he said in a statement on May 30th . “We are planning to invest in 12 more firms this year.”

The network has so far invested Rs. 30 crore in over 20 start-ups, said P S Sreekanth, Investment Director. “We have exited from Edutor, one of our portfolio companies, giving us a return 3.5 times the investment,” said Daggubati Suresh Babu, Vice-Chairman.
