SBricks pays $1 million for HomeCues

Facility management and home services startup SBricks has acquired home services aggregator HomeCues for more than $1million.

While HomeCues will be a subsidiary company of SBricks, it will continue to operate under its original name and the two companies will split their focus into business-to-consumer and business-to-business sectors respectively. This is the second acquisition for Hyderabad based SBricks, which is now scouting for a laundry and cleaning services startup to acquire by the end of the year.

“We thought this would be a good synergy, bringing together our last-mile ownership and their aggregator model under one umbrella,” D Nithin Reddy, CEO of SBricks told.

The acquisition fits in with the company’s strategy, Reddy said while conceding that it is unusual for a 16-month-old company to go in for a buyout. “We are aiming at standardising these home services. Once we have created a perfect model in Hyderabad, replicating this to other cities is not going be a problem,” Reddy said.
