WASME for more flexibility to MSMEs in the Budget

World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) seeks a flexible Budget for MSMEs to extend support to the sector’s development.

“Without MSME we can’t think of our economy and development. We have to be flexible”, says WASME ED Sampa Banerjee.

Government has initiatives like Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) where they provide funds without collaterals.

SIDBI and MUDRA provide direct and indirect schemes such as Credit Guarantee Scheme (CGS).

WASME wants to extend the support in a ‘flexible’ manner because of the involvement of a lot of paperwork in the process.

WASME believes that for each and every segment of MSMEs there should be an increment in the Budget for establishment of Common Facility Centres and serve the purpose.

OD limit for the regular working capital should also be covered.
