Following the earlier disruption of its Uber Moto services , Uber will offer the ‘Uber Wicked Ride’ service through its dashboard during limited windows in different cities, which started with Bengaluru on May 14th.
This promotional activity with Uber was Wicked Ride’s second major venture after the biking startup had tied up with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited ( BMRCL ) to offer feeder services to the metro.
Those availing this service can either choose to be a pillion rider or ride the bike themselves. Riding the bike requires the rider to furnish proofs of their driving license as well as personal identification.
During the initial promo phase, customers will not be charged anything, according to a press release by Uber. On booking a bike through the Uber app, a Wicked Ride representative will turn up with the bike to the user’s desired pick-up point.
Wicked Ride is present in 12 cities, and sees upto 3000 hits on their website daily with over 1500 monthly transactions.
