“In the next 10 days we will taking the WBIS 2013 for MSMEs online. With this, now no one will be required to come physically for incentives,” said Vijay Bharti, Director, West Bengal MSME.
“Application, tracking and even complaints will be entertained online,” he said.
The Bengal government had been very cautious about startup funding and was evaluating projects closely and financing depending upon the actual progress.
However, state government was trying to develop existing clusters with soft and fiscal interventions to scale up their operations.
“We are trying to create common facility centers in clusters and already identified the existing producers there. A center of excellence for jute diversified products will be set up in North Dinajpur. There is an example that jute bags from there are exported to Europe for Real Madraid,” Bharti said.
Several other common facility centers will be taken up by the state government, he said.
