Gandhi Jayanti Special: Evolving a Swachh Bharat with the spearheads of MSMEs

National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) brought together the  MSME leaders who paid rich tribute to the father of the nation on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, and swept clean the path ahead for MSMEs.

To help fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of ‘Clean India’, Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra, Ministers of State Giriraj Singh and Haribhai Chaudhary, and Secretary K K Jalan led the cleaning drive, inspiring 5 crore MSMEs across the nation to evolve a clean India.

Applauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat initiative, Kalraj Mishra said, “Swachh Bharat has built-in a sense of responsibility amongst people. The campaign will act as a personal mission.

Mishra urged to spread the message of cleanliness amongst the vulnerable sections of society across the country.

Giriraj Singh stated that with citizens of the country becoming active participants in cleanliness activities pan-India, the campaign has stepped in the right direction.

Haribhai Chaudhary said that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has led to understanding the significance of sanitation, and has simultaneously addressed the health problems that Indian families have been dealing with due to lack of hygiene in their homes.

K K Jalan urged all the officers and employees of Ministry of MSME, including NSIC, KVIC, Coir Board, to maintain the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan throughout the year and inculcate it as a daily habit.

To earmark this Gandhi Jayanti, NSIC has introduced reduction in fees in the Single Point Registration schemes for government purchases for the benefit and promotion of MSMEs. The one-time registration fee has been lowered from Rs. 5 thousand to 3 thousand. Also, the processing fee for raw material loans has been lowered upto 0.5 per cent.

The Credit Facility scheme brochure was also released at the occasion.
