To compete with the neighbouring state of Punjab, the Manohar Lal Khattar led Haryana government has decided to boost the micro, small and medium scale industries with concessions in power rates.
The sector will soon get electricity at the rate of Rs 5 per unit, with a relief of Re 1 per unit to all the industries of the state, in current rates of electricity.
There are about 1 lakh micro, small and medium enterprises in Haryana, which comprise 96 per cent of the total industry. The industry is currently consuming power at a rate of Rs 6.75 per unit.
The Punjab government had recently, on June 19, announced to provide power to the MSME sector at the rate of Rs 5 per unit. He said that promoting capital investment in the state is one of the top priorities of the government and in this regard, subsidy will be provided in form of electricity tariffs to help micro, small and medium scale industries.
Apart from power tariffs, Goel informed that the Textile Policy of the state has been prepared and it will be notified in the next 15 days.
He also informed that the draft of MSME Policy has also been prepared. Suggestions are being taken from relevant stake holders on this. This policy will also be issued really soon.
