There is a boom in the number of internet start-ups in India accounting to a total of 18,648 across all major cities, suggests a latest report on the city-wise and sector-wise distribution of these enterprises.
Delhi NCR takes up the top position with a whopping 6080 internet start-ups. Further contributing to the list are Bangalore, Mumbai and Hyderabad as runner-ups with 3913, 3105 and 1,262 start-ups respectively.
Second on the chart of highest start-ups luring sector in India is online retailing with a total of 3,419 start-ups across major cities pan-India. Here again the national capital region has shown highest participation with 1,288 online retail start-ups, followed by Mumbai (645), Bangalore (541) and Chennai (142).
According to the research, undoubtedly Delhi-NCR home maximum start-ups in India, totaling to 15,942, closely followed by IT-Hub of India Bangalore with 11,790, and then comes Mumbai with 9,496 start-ups.
It can also be deduced from the data provided in the report that in this huge contribution of Delhi-NCR in the start-up industry, Delhi has the lead with 9,641 start-ups. Gurgaon, an attractive market-place for entrepreneurs, may home big names like MakeMyTrip, Oyo Rooms, ShopClues, Urban Clap, etc. but as of yet stands as the second biggest contributor with 3,560 start-ups. Following the two is none other than Noida with 2,045 start-ups.
Going by the statistics, VR Gaming has still miles to go; given only mere 4 start-ups are there all-over India – 2 in Chennai, with 1-1 each in NCR and Pune.
