Assuring hassle free environment for MSMEs, Union Minister Kalraj Mishra has said that the process of registration of units has been simplified as a part of the Make in India initiative.
βThe biggest hindrance in the MSME sector β registration β has been highly simplified in the past few months. Today, anybody with an innovative idea can submit only a one-page document and register online in three minutes without documentation or money spent,β Mishra said.
Since the launch of the online registration portal, 2 lakh 25 thousand registrations have been done till date, with 45,000 in Maharashtra alone.
On the performance of MSME sector, Mishra said, The Indian MSME sector provides maximum opportunities for employment and contributes in building an inclusive and sustainable society in innumerable ways through creation of non-farm livelihood at low cost,
Mishra also said that it was mandatory for public undertakings to buy 20 per cent of their requirement from MSMEs. Stressing on innovation and research and development in the MSME sector, he said that the government has proposed to open 51 clusters and 500 incubation centres across the country.
Through the Aspire scheme for promotion of innovation in rural industry, two technical incubation centres and two business centres have already been launched.
