The Minister said that the textiles industry of India has attracted three-fold investments in form of Foreign Direct Investments. The industry stands at the second spot in terms of job creation in the nation, she added.
She said that the central government is constantly working upon strengthening the industry.
Recently, the government has also provided assistance of Rs 6,000 crore for the sector’s growth. Under this, ‘Textiles India’ is being strengthened under the ambitious Make in India programme. The Minister also lauded the Central government’s MUDRA scheme and said that the industry is getting ample encouragement through it.
Vastra 20217 is a comprehensive four-day trade fair and conference on apparels and garments, during which a mix of the finest and latest textile products from fiber to fashion, services and technology will be showcased.
Rajasthan Industries Minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat was also present at the inaugural of the fair. Vastra has been organized to boost MSMEs of the state and to make way for global reach of the sector.
About 300 buyers from 55 countries will participate in the Fair with exhibitors representing 13 nations across globe. Through this textiles fair, Rajasthan will promote the textiles industry and will pave way for international buyers.
