“The new capital will be largely allocated to hire a solid team across technology, product and design. We need to strengthen these aspects first and then we will look to have a sales team as well,” said Gahlaut.
The company is already working with some of the leading internet based startups in the country. Among other front desk staff, delivery executives in e-commerce or logistics firms are a typical use case for Noticeboard’s product.
“The falling costs of smartphones and data, makes it possible today to reach out to the last person in the organisation. For teams to deliver superior customer experience, real time reliable information sharing is a must,” added Gahlaut.
Noticeboard said in a prepared statement that there are about 2 billion workers in the organised sector globally who do not have access to e-mails and that causes delay in flow of information from their superiors. Noticeboard is trying to tap into this space and it also has a long term plan of taking the product outside of India as well.
“Despite nearly three decades of email and thereafter a variety of communication tools for the desk workers, enterprise communication eludes the frontline staff. With over 300 million such workers in India and 2 billion globally, we believe that this is a massive opportunity, and one that should naturally come from India,” said Alok Goyal, partner at Stellaris Venture Partners.
