HEALTHCARE DISCOVERY APP MEDINFI RAISES RS 2 CRORE IN ANGEL ROUND

Location-based app for finding patient-reviewed clinics in the vicinity and booking doctor appointments, Medinfi has raised an angel round of Rs 2 crore from a group of investors. The company founded by Ravi Krishna Mishra, former head of retailer marketing at Amazon late last year is currently live across Bangalore, Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, covering a network of 3000-plus clinics and doctors.

The round of funding saw participation from Pradeep K Jaisingh, chairman, Healthstart, Sunil T V co-founder, IVFA, Vijay Ghadge of logistics firm Gojavas, former CEO & MD of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Hemant Kaul, Dr Ram Kumar Kakani, professor at XLRI and GurmeetChahal SVP & head-healthcare of HCLTechnologies.

“We want to be a pure content based platform and do not have any revenue tie-ups with doctors or clinics. We have revenue share model with digital ad-networks and are working with some health insurance companies to provide data from patient experience about hospitals,” said Ravi Krishna Mishra, founder of Medinfi who came up with the concept while trying to locate a god diabetologist for his mother in a new city.

Medinfi intends to use the funds for launching iOS mobile application, apart from expanding its operations to 10 Indian cities in coming 2-3 months. Medinfi was also a part of Facebook’s Bootstrap Program FBStart.
