As part Auto Expo, Component show will be held in Pragati Maidan here from February 4-7. This will showcase several new auto components developed in the country.
Auto component SMEs are one of the fastest growing within SMEs
Spread over 80,000 sq mts in 18 halls, this year the expo will see participation from 1,500 companies (50 new entrants) including 900 Indian companies and 600 International exhibitors. Seven exclusive International pavilions from China, Canada, Germany, Japan, Taiwan ( ROC), South Korea and the U.K.
The 13th Auto Expo is being organized jointly by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
The Indian auto component sector has been growing at 20% per annum since 2000 and was projected to maintain the high-growth phase of 15-20% till 2015.
The ACMA-McKinsey Vision 2015 document estimates the potential for the Indian Auto Component Industry to be Rs 160,000 Crores to Rs 180,000 Crores by 2016. In 2006-07 automotive component exports were worth Rs 11,200 Crores and today it is around Rs 72,000 Crores.
