Jammu MSMEs have requested the Centre to extend incentives to them under DIPP packages and other Central packages of incentives for a period of ten years to woo investors.
In this regard, a delegation of Federation of Industries, Jammu led by its Chairman Lalit Mahajan, submitted a memorandum to Commerce & Industries Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the presence of Jugal Kishore, Member Parliament.
During the course of discussions,. Mahajan requested the Sitharaman for the extension of incentives under DIPP packages and other Central package of incentives on the pattern of North Eastern Package for a period ten years to encourage the entrepreneurs for investment in the state.
In a release, Mahajan said, “The issues highlighted in the memorandum were – Extension of DIPP Package of Incentives for 10 years which is going to be expiring on 14-06-2017 with a provision of Naturalization of Khasra to new as well as to existing units under Substantial Expansion Programe for 10 years.”
The sector also urged for simplification of guidelines for claiming Freight Subsidy Incentives, Freight Subsidy for the Import of Raw Materials from Dry Port Ludhiana and for the dispatch of Finished Goods meant for Export to naturalize the additional cost of transportation of Raw materials/Finished Goods.
Majahan said, the industry urged for, “Timely release of funds for the payment sanctioned cases of Central Package of Incentives & one Time Relaxation in the Condition for the submission of Claims under DIPP Package of Incentives for the Time Barred Cases lying with the Industries Department.”
Among other demands were – Restoration of refund of 100% Central Excise Duty paid; 100% Income Tax exemption for industrial units; setting up of Mother Industry; Mandate Public Procurement Policy; and more.
Sitharaman assured the delegation that she will resolve the issues related to her Ministry and take up the matter with the Centre to resolve the issues.
