World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) has entered into a strategic collaboration with Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) as an industry facilitator at Visakhapatnam. This facilitation desk at AMTZ would be a one stop shop for all queries of members of WASME. Such strategic associations act as catalyst in the confidence building of manufacturers and building a long-term relationship with them, AMTZ officials said adding that with special focus on micro, small and medium (MSME) manufacturers, WASME provides a global platform of MSMEs to come and set up their units at AMTZ.
After the launch of the expression of interest (EOIs) for various common scientific facilities and manufacturing units, these collaborations will bring about required additional stakeholder synergies and interest among the interested manufacturers service providers, AMTZ officials said. WASME comes with an International congregation of medium and small scale manufacturers and has a substantial presence in India with a large number of component manufacturers in its fold, AMTZ said.
Spread over 270 acres, the foundation stone for AMTZ project was laid in the third week of August this year and infrastructure for medical devices manufacturing firms is expected to be completed in the next one year. The AMTZ is the first of its kind zone dedicated for manufactuting medical devices in the country. AMTZ said that in association with Voice of Health and AIMED (Association of Indian Medical Devices Manufacturers) is organising the 7th Medic Expo on October 1 and 2 in Vizag.
