To promote handloom and handicraft products of good quality, the government is holding “Woolen of India”, a National Level Special Handloom Expo from 30th December, 2015 to 12th January, 2016. It was inaugurated by Textiles Secretary, Dr. S.K.Panda.
It is an Exhibition cum sale at the newly renovated and upgraded Handloom Haat, Janpath.
In addition to wide range of handloom and handicraft products, the exhibition will showcase and offer for sale ‘India Handloom’ branded premium handloom products.
There will be three venues where year round exhibitions will be held for the promotion of handicraft and handloom products.
They are Handloom Haat, Craft Museum and Handloom Pavilion in Pragati Maidan.
The newly revamped Handloom Haat has come up with many new features.
Parking facility is available for more than 150 vehicles. There is a provision of adequate number of CCTV cameras to ensure safety of visitors. Street food such as chaat, prepared in hygienic conditions is also available at the Haat. A restaurant is also expected to start functioning soon.
Handloom and handicraft products of good quality are available in the showrooms.
