Sports have a new destination with some unique styles this time. Born to Play is an endeavour brought out to change the way you look at sports. A first of its kind initiative, Born to Play reconstructs sports as we know it, and hopes to bring delight through the medium of sports.
“We strive to bring out the competitive spirit in people and promote sports as a healthy lifestyle choice. Making available various sports to people of all ages and introducing sportsmanship as something to apply in our day to day lives is one of the prime driving forces of our venture. Therefore, if you think of sports, think of us”, says Born to Play Founder Drishti Mehta.
To ensure the prime focus, Born to Play hosts various championships across different sports and creates a never before seen era of sporting culture.
Excerpts from an exclusive interaction with Drishti Mehta of Born to Play:
Background of Promoters
I am a Statistics graduate from Delhi University belonging to a big fat Punjabi family. I grew up seeing my family doing the joint business. I have been into street play in my college time. I was always inclined towards social work. Thus, Born To Play! while trying to bring about a social change in India.
Animesh Pandey, Co-Founder, is a commerce graduate from Delhi University, an all-rounder, a go getter who gets things done, knows all jugaads and has a credible personality with a humble smile.
The initial period- the challenges & the ecstasy of quick wins!
Raising sponsorships for these kinds of sports events was the first challenge we faced as we picked up sports which are not very famous in India and the other issue we faced was the government dealings. But the feedback that we have got from the players that attend our events and tournaments has been our biggest achievement so far. Being a part of Tipping Point, presenting Born to Play to the world out there is definitely an amazing feeling altogether.
The journey so far!
The journey has been a rollercoaster since we started 6 months back. Born to Play came as a surprise to my family, then the real struggle came raising money to organise such huge events and dealing with people from government. But the feedback that we get from the players and their parents after every event just pushes us further to make Born To Play huge.

The feelings on getting the first big order / contract for your company
Well not really an order but a sponsor. I still remember when we raised Mankind Pharma as our first sponsor; it influenced us to work harder and make the best of our potential.
