Mumbai-based healthcare startup, Care24 plans to train 10,000 healthcare attendants by the end of 2017. The training will be conducted under the Skill India programme started by the government.

According to a release, attendants will be trained for specialised treatments such cancer care and neurological in association with specialised agencies such as NSDC, AIIMS and Tata Memorial, among others.

“We believe in skilling and training as the way forward for creating the right kind of talent pool for the healthcare industry and have taken the onus of bridging the critical skill gap faced by the healthcare industry today,” Care24 CEO and Co-Founder Vipin Pathak said.

The attendants will also have to go through reading, writing and physical tests and at the same time they will be trained for specialist skills before they are given with a part- or-full-time work.

Pathak also said that the training and certification provided by Care24 and NSDC will not only benefit the development of an individual but will also increase their potential earning by 1.5 times.

The aim of the programme is to create a specialist services workforce for the unorganised and scattered healthcare market.
