Textile manufacturer and denim maker Arvind Limited is set to revamp Khadi industry and boost Khadi artisans by entering into an agreement with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) on July 21 in Ahmedabad. In line with the agreement, the company plans to buy 1 million metres of Khadi Denim per year.
Under the agreement, Arvind Limited has been certified with a ‘Khadi mark’ for its products to be showcased across the globe with a unique identity. From here on, Arvind will spread across its hand-spun, hand-woven, and hand-dyed Khadi Denim collection, prepared by engaging artisans from pan-India villages.

“Khadi for all is our goal – Khadi for youth, Khadi for teenagers, too. The KVIC-Arvind initiative for launching Denim Khadi is a step in this direction. The Khadi journey is eternal,” said KVIC Chairman V K Saxena.
“The group’s vision is to build a substantially scalable supply chain platform, capable of servicing large international brand requirements. Several of Arvind’s potential clients are major fashion brands which have expressed interest in creating their clothing lines around Khadi Denim,” said Arvind Limited Executive Director Punit Lalbhai.
The textile giant also showcased its Khadi Denim collection whilst inking of the agreement with KVIC.
