Gujarat-Traders-Federation-writes-to-Modi-over-GST-rules_SECVPF - CopyIndia’s biggest tax reform, the newly rolled-out Goods and Services Tax (GST), will benefit the small traders more, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs from eastern Uttar Pradesh on July 20.

While informing the Members of Parliament about the benefits of GST, the Prime Minister said the regime will accelerate the transportation of goods and be of advantage to small traders.

The PM urged the MPs to give pace to their activities in specific parliamentary constituencies and states. He also asked the members to cooperate with the recently formed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led government in the state.

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) was rolled-out on July 1 in a bid to revolutionise the taxation system in India by replacing various taxes at Central and State-levels with ‘One Nation One Tax’.

The BJP MPs briefed the Prime Minister about the status of Central & State schemes in their constituencies and told that schemes like Ujjwala, Khelo India, Fasal Beema, Mudra and Skill India had been beneficial in the rural areas and transformed their lives, especially of the women.

Party President Amit Shah and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar were also present at the meeting.

The PM has lately picked on the new tradition of holding meetings with party MPs in different groups to discuss issues pertaining to their specific constituencies and states. After the meeting held on July 20 with eastern UP MPs, the PM is scheduled to address similar nine other meetings during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament.
