As per the MoU, NIFT will work with Khadi institutions on design development and training. The fashion institute will also assist the latter in design inputs and process development at different SFURTI clusters.
On KVIC’s part under the MoU, the Commission will identify and provide NIFT with Khadi institutions to take up projects. KVIC will also involve NIFT students on paid summer internships under Khadi institutions and sales outlets for visual merchandising, design development and planning.
The MoU will ensure hand-holding of artisans. It is anticipated to create a grass-root technical support system and enhance the capacity of KVIC and its market accessibility.
