MSME Ministry gearing up a grievances portal for transparent governance

The portal is expected to build a know-how for the government as to how proactively the ministries and departments are addressing the issues raised by MSMEs

Arun Kumar PandaMinistry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) may launch an online grievances portal for the sector with government departments, as per an announcement made by MSME Secretary Arun Kumar Panda in a meeting with sector representatives.

As per the information provided by the Secretary, the concerned government departments will be time bound to take actions with respect to the grievances and also put it on the portal for public viewing.

In case of an unaddressed grievance, the portal will publicly display the status as pending against the concerned department/ministry’s name, since grievances portals till now never showcased the statuses which will be a unique step toward bringing in transparency in the procedures.

The portal is expected to build a know-how for the government as to how proactively the ministries and departments are addressing the issues raised by MSMEs, the backbone and growth engine of Indian economy.

The Secretary informed that the Ministry of MSME is planning to launch the said grievances portal as soon as possible. Also, MSME Associations are working upon a mechanism to get the best out of the portal to do away with hurdles that MSMEs are currently facing in their entrepreneurial journey with respect to government and its system.
