In order to fast-track project clearance for MSMEs, district level single window clearance authority (DLSWCA) and district level facilitation cell (DLFC) were set up in all the districts in 2014-15, Samal said and added that the DLSWCAs have so far cleared 321 projects with proposed investment of Rs 1147 crore and employment generation potential of 37,700 persons.
The Odisha MSME Policy, 2009 has been replaced with an updated Odisha MSME Development Policy, 2016 with greater focus and schemes. The minimum capital investment subsidy for a new industry has been enhanced from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 1 crore for general category and from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1.25 crore for SC, ST, differently abled, woman and technical entrepreneurs, Samal said.
The Minister further said the Odisha Food Processing Policy, 2013 has been replaced with a more comprehensive Odisha Food Processing Policy, 2016. The MITS Mega Food Park at Rayagada developed in PPP mode has been completed while the mega sea food park at Deras is at advance stage of execution, he added.
