Textiles India 2017, claimed to be the largest textiles show ever held in India, is all set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar on June 30. The mega 3-day global exhibition will bring about an opportunity to interact with over 1500 exhibitors spread over 78,000 square metres.
With 22 round-tables and 6 conferences, a total of 2500 overseas buyers and 15,000 domestic visitors are estimated to part-take in this wide spectrum from Fibre to Fashion.

Jharkhand, a partner state in the initiative, will have its own pavilion – Momentum Jharkhand Textile. On July 1, Jharkhand will have a special session on the state, in which the textile policy of Jharkhand and the possibilities of textile industry in the state will be detailed. The session is expected to attract investors to the state.
Khadi Board and JharCraft’s stalls will also be installed in the Jharkhand Pavilion.

The exhibition will rope in weavers, designers, manufacturers, buyers, exporters, suppliers with a display of handicraft, handloom, jute, apparel, and fashion technology, all under one roof. It aims at uplifting India’s textiles industry which employees more than 45 million people, and has a fair share of 10 per cent in manufacturing, 13 per cent in export income, and 2 per cent in GDP of the nation.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Textiles Minister Smriti Irani, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Industry & Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Road Transport & Highways & Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari, Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma, etc will be the key-note speakers during the three days of the exhibition.
