The hope is that this would boost not just our economy but the underlying, fundamental issue of employment as well. By promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship in India, we could create a nation of job creators over job seekers. To nudge things along further, the Startup India Hub was launched last week which is a platform where all stakeholders can interact, exchange knowledge and enable each other to grow.

You may not have known that the Startup India Hub (The Hub) has entered an engagement with an online, New York-based, tech incubator and collaboration community for highly skilled millennials called Collaborizm. Through Collaborizm, Indian tech start-ups can connect with like-minded teammates to advance their innovative project ideas. They could display their skills, share knowledge, earn online credentials and it even enables the ‘most elite talent’ to do freelance jobs for customers in developed markets.

How the Startup India Hub – Collaborizm relationship works

Collaborizm selects a couple of promising Indian ventures every week and shares a detailed description of these projects with Startup India Hub. The details include why they believe a certain venture has potential and the kind of assistance they might require – which could be in manufacturing and prototyping, accounting and legal requirements, access to angel funds and overall mentorship including how to write a business plan.

How does Collaborizm select?

Collaborizm has already begun selecting projects for The Hub support and are providing mentorship for angel funding, manufacturing aid and legal help to the project’s team. What they’re looking for are projects that show healthy team-work and delegations of tasks, clear step-by-step roadmaps, projects that have developed a detailed business plan and pitch deck with a competitive differentiation in the market and ventures that are actively working with the community on specific tasks.

Benefits of engaging with Collaborizm

Collaborizm enables Startup India Hub to not only directly engage with but also support aspiring entrepreneurs in a scalable, virtual environment. Through this, The Hub gets to learn first-hand what these aspiring entrepreneurs require to succeed with their ideas and ventures and enables them to directly see the positive impact they have through their mentoring.

Collaborizm believes they are able to provide the “first scalable solution towards mentoring and spotting the most promising early stage startup teams in India.”

Once a startup is selected by Collaborizm and they begin their mentorship with the Startup India Hub, the entire Collaborizm community gets to witness the on-going mentorship. This could in turn inspire other users to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams with more confidence.
