Zero Effect Zero Deffect (ZED) is important in improving quality systems, explained Quality Control of India (QCI) to MSME.
Zero Defect, Zero Effect (ZED) scheme is a new initiative launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government. The scheme is basically for micro small and medium enterprises (MSME).
Implementing ZED in true spirit will equip MSME’s for superior quality, reduced rejection and higher revenues in their product and process.
According to a source, at a regional workshop of MSMEs held on August 29, the officials explained that ZED not only tells them about their systems but also make them realise the importance of adopting an action plan for world-class bench-marking.
The workshop was conducted as part of MSME Day celebration.
A. Raj of QCI, Hemant Rao of National Productivity Council (NPC) and Rachana Bhusari of National Stock Exchange (NSE) attended the workshop. About 50 MSMEs from four districts of Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam attended.
Executive Director (MSME), AP Invest Rajendra Kondepati, Joint Director (MSME), AP Government S.V. Giridhar Rao, District Industries Centre General Managers Ramalinga Raju (Visakhapatnam), Uday Bhaskar (Vizianagaram) participated in discussion.
ZED enhances competitiveness of the vendors in the global marketplace so that goods manufactured have no defects and thus leveraging the benefits of quality and cost optimisation.
ZED also reduce negative effect on environment and nhanced environment consciousness making them ‘’Responsible Manufacturers.’’
The State government signed eight MoUs with Central organisations and private companies on June 27 to improve capabilities and business practices of MSMEs.
The agreements were signed as MSME segment provides eight out of ten jobs created by the industries and it accounts for 35 per cent of GSDP.
