Before running a company or starting up a business, you need at least someone or the other to sponsor or support you financially. But this didn’t happen with the two childhood friends who built their start-up from Zero to a million dollar venture without any investors.
Founders of the popular app MacAppStudio, George Christopher and Suresh Kumar, both born in Tiruchirappalli, had quit their 2 lakh per-month-salary jobs at Cisco to become entrepreneurs. MacAppStudio was started in 2012.

Initial Bumps
When the two decided to leave their jobs, people and friends around them said that they were out of their mind. They had no one who would encourage and support them in their toughest time except their wives and a few of close friends. It was hard for them to even imagine. Kumar’s wife was expecting a baby and Christopher’s wife just had her first son, and keeping up with their families was not an easy task to take such a bold decision.
When the duo first started their journey, they had no office and no fan. They got their first fan after a month, an inverter after three months, first AC after five months and a small office after six months. The first two years had been a roller coaster ride for the two of them. For two long years, they were working with no other employees or investors besides them.
The Fruitful Journey
Initially, they have created some of the good products in a very low internet speed which is 1 Mbps and with poor voltage fluctuation. But now, they have 100 Mbps. They had only two of them in the beginning, and now, they have more than 40+ employees.
Today, the duo own three ventures MacApp Studio, BlueInnovations and RocketXLabs BlueInnovations and RocketXLabs. BlueInnovations (launched in 2012), is into RealSense, two-in-one devices and X86 for Android. RocketXLabs (January 2016) is an IoT (Internet of Things) laboratory creating products and provide services in the IoT platform.
The company has so far, created 120 apps for various platforms, including iOS, Android, Windows and Mac OSX. The apps have seen three million downloads with four lakh daily users. They are also an Intel Premier Elite Partner. Not only this, they have also worked with many big corporate houses including Fortune 10 companies.
Now, the duo have moved on to the new office as their old office could not hold more than 20 people. But they still keep the old office as part of their value and sentiment.
Mobile app development
According to an industry estimate, Internet users are expected to reach 462 million by June 2017, with revenue from paid apps in India estimated to reach $317.6 million. India is all set to become the largest base of mobile app developers by 2017, according to a report by Deloitte.

Present Scenario
Their apps currently top the chart in Mac App Store. They are also giving training to potential youth in their company. After the successful completion of their training, they are included in the team. So far, they have mentored 40+ youth and also give them free food and accommodation.
Success does not come to those who wait; it comes to those who create. Kumar and Christopher have worked their heads off in order to beat all odds and hurdles that came along their way. Today, in just four years, they have built a million dollar bootstrapped company.
