Parliamentary Secretary for Industries & Commerce, Amenba Yaden has asserted that Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has emerged as a vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy over the few decades.
He said this after inaugurating National level vendor development programme cum industrial exhibition (buyers-sellers meet for MSMEs) organized by Ministry of MSME, Br.MSME-development institute, Old Industrial Estate, Dimapur in association with Alaphra group, Dimapur on February 25 at Super market, near BSNL & Hotel Saramati Dimapur.
Amenba mentioned that MSME not only play a crucial role in providing large employment opportunities at comparatively lower capital cost than large industries but also help in industrialization of rural and backward areas, assuring more equitable distribution of national income and wealth.
Stating that marketing being a crucial link in the supply chain management, he said special efforts were evolved to strengthen the market base of MSME.
The parliamentary secretary pointed out that the problem of low productivity was addressed by the government by the introduction of many schemes enhancing their competitiveness.
He also said that the schemes offer a gamut of subsidies and concessions for introduction of new technologies, quality certification, market development, adoption of clean technologies, energy efficient technologies etc.
Amenba informed that the programme was being organized with a view to establish market linkages for MSMEs and providing a common platform for the large scale industries. He said MSMEs of this region could interact with each other and would help to locate suitable vendors.
Informing on government of India formulated public procurement policy for the benefit of MSMEs Amenba said policy effective from April 1, 2012 has become mandatory from April, 1 2015.
He said the objective of the policy was promotion and development of micro and small enterprises by supporting them marketing of products and services rendered to them.
Amenba also explained in brief of salient features and benefits of the policy.
Earlie, the programme was compeered by deputy director in charge, Br MSME DI, Dimapur, Tali Longchar while vote of thanks was delivered by assistant director (mech) Br. MSME-DI Dimapur.
Altogether 50 stalls are being exhibited in the two days exhibition cum sale clothing and handicraft made by local artists.
