Rajiv Srivastava, Managing Director, HP IndiaWith the impetus of the government on digitisation of its departments and small and medium businesses aiming to be more productive and secure at an affordable price point, there is a growing need for products and services that offer good design, speed, productivity and security. This is what global printer and PC major HP promises to deliver with its new portfolio of business printers for the government and the businesses in India.

Recently, the American tech major introduced a wide range of printers under the PageWide technology and expanded the traditional OfficeJet Pro series. The new portfolio of business printers will help small businesses in India focus on enhanced data security, faster and low-cost printing and energy savings.

The PageWide technology is a scalable print technology developed by HP that uses a stationary printhead that spans the width of a page and contains more than 40,000 tiny nozzles, instead of a printhead that travels back and forth across the page. Company officials inform that this technology offers fast print speed with energy efficiency and upto 50% less cost per page than the comparable colour laser printers.

Rajiv Srivastava, Managing Director, HP India, said, “There are a lot of things changing in our life and in the market. We are no longer working the way we used to work five years ago. Due to the rapid development in the technology space, there is a new way of working and collaborating. Simplicity, looks, and security have become key features of a product for the people. That is why we aim to keep on innovating and PageWide technology is one among many from us.”

He added that HP is reinventing printing for every business, whether they are SMBs who need to be more productive and secure at an affordable price-point, or organisations grappling with the fast evolving security risks in their complex network.

HP says that all of its products come with high-tech security features. That is why the company has introduced HP secure managed print services (MPS), a new managed print services focused on security. Basically MPS provides security experts with the ability to help customers secure their print environment with the strongest protections available in the industry and then maintain security over time to address evolving threats and compliance requirements.

According to Parikshet Singh Tomar, country category leader, Printing Systems, HP India, the government’s Digital India vision is driving transformation for Indian businesses and citizens. There are immense opportunities for HP to contribute to this transformation. Talking specifically about the new printer range, he said, “To prevent unauthorised access to confidential print jobs and reduce waste from misprinted jobs, SMB users can turn on the new HP JetAdvantage private printing on-demand. Each print job is securely stored in the cloud until the user authenticates and claims the job from the printer.”

He added that the new printers also include enhanced manageability and security features as well as seamless mobile printing.

Although the new printers are targeted at SMBs, Singh said that these machines will find usage in all the verticals.

“With young people entering the workforce and starting their own businesses, they are redefining work styles and workspaces. Businesses—both large and small—are also seeking the right balance between maximizing workspace and providing the right environment to stimulate creativity. Therefore we are enhancing the design of our printers across all portfolios,” he added.

The new HP PageWide business portfolio will be available through HP’s channel partners and at select retail stores. In addition, the new portfolio increases the number of managed devices designed for contractual channel partners and managed print services engagements. These HP PageWide printers enable HP channel partners to provide low cost of operation, a three-year print head warranty, higher speeds and recommended monthly print volume on select models, as well as integration with HP JetAdvantage management and third-party tools.
