MSME Secretary, KK Jalan was also the part of this interaction. This is part of #TransformingIndia initiative under which one is witnessing a series of talks by Union Ministers to share the impact of their ministry’s key initiatives.

While answering questions over Twitter, he said that top three priorities of MSME Ministry are rejuvenating enterprises, creating employment & giving impetus to agro industries through ASPIRE (A Scheme for Promoting Innovation, Entrepreneurship).

CjYPqUiVAAIsG12Mishra said his government is trying to enhance the competitiveness of MSME among traditional Industries. During 2015-16 under SFURTI (Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries) Yojna, 30,438 artisans in 32 clusters has been assisted.

For productivity improvement, he said 199 awareness programme on Lean Manufacturing was organized during 2015-16 and 627 since inception, he added.

CjYQmg5UgAALtczSchemes like PMEGP (Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme) and Credit Linked Subsidy is working towards fostering entrepreneurship. 92,508 units has been established to provide job opportunity for 9,90,864 during 2014-16 and Rs 2142 crores of margin money has been provided. He further said that 875 MSMEs participated in 55 international events during 2015-16.

Skill mapping for almost all the districts has been completed and is now available on website www.dcmsme.gov.in

Other key initiatives included E-office in Ministry-wide application, Committee to frame MSME Policy, Framework for Rehabilitation and Revival, Ease of doing Business, Udhyog Aadhaar, Khadi-Fabric of Nation to Fabric of Fashion.

CjYQBToUUAA48RPHe also referred to Coir Export exceeding Rs. 1500 crores and MoU with Samsung  and Social Security for Khadi artisans & Coir workers. Apart from this the ministry also conducted regional conclaves for participatory development and have come Laghu Udhyog Samachaar magazine.

Forthcoming initiatives include DataBank and MyMsmE mobile app and leveraging the power of Digital & Social Media for awareness generation and feedback.
