City-based premier institute, National Institute of Design (NID), will attend the Make in India week to be held in Mumbai from February 13 to 18. With its vision to empower the country through design excellence, NID will also share futuristic ideas of its students in the summit, where award-winning products will be put on display.
Pradyumna Vyas, Director of NID, Ahmedabad, who will be one of the key speakers at the conference on `Empowerment through Design’, said NID will put up design shows, hold workshops and also exhibit projects by students at the week-long summit.
“We are putting up a Make in India design show, in which we want to showcase good design practices from across the country. Different selected products, which have got `India design’ mark and design excellence award, will be exhibited along with some futuristic ideas of students. It will help industry people to learn about design activities in India,” Vyas said.
“We will also hold two-hour workshops every day, where eminent designers will speak on good design practices,” he added.
