After the central government’s decision, the state has made online registrations mandatory to new MSMEs since October 6, 2015. Accordingly, an entrepreneur, who is opening a unit in MSME categories, will have to submit Adhaar card number while going for online registration.

Earlier, the MSMEs had to submit ‘Part One’ certificate to the office of the District Industries Centre (DIC) of the state while opening a new unit, while they had to submit ‘Part Two’ certificate after commercial operation of the plant. The government has cancelled both the certificates and introduced online registration system.

An official from industrial department said, “The MSMEs may register online on the udyog adhaar portal of the central government. Around 4,100 MSMEs have made online registration in past seven months. Nashik is on the sixth rank when it comes to online registration, while Pune and Thane have got first and second rank. This is because of the potential and awareness in these two cities.”
