Mr-Chandrajit-Banerjee-Director-General-CIIIndustry body CII said it will focus on West Bengal’s Small and Medium Enterprises, which hold the potential to change the state’s investment scenario.

“CII will promote ‘Make in India’ with international and domestic roadshows. We will also focus on Bengal. SMEs hold huge potential here and we will work to make them competitive,” Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Director General Chandrajit Banerjee said here.

CII President Naushad Forbes hoped that with the ‘Make in India’ boost, all states, including Bengal, will benefit as India is poised to grow at 8 per cent in the current fiscal.

He also hoped that the investment cycle, which has slowed down in the last five years, would see signs of rejuvenation by the end of the year as the ideal capacity is expected to get exhausted with higher demand.

CII West Bengal State Council Chairman Anil Vaswani said Bengal also has a strong potential in tourism, agriculture and farm-related sectors.
