Chief Minister Anandiben Patel promised to resolve all issues pertaining to the Micro, Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in Gujarat at the annual board meeting of the State MSME Advisory Board on February 5.
The CM launched regional facilitation desk in four cities to help and promote industries in a broader way. The regional facilitation desks have been set-up in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Surat with all modern facilities.
These desks will provide guidance and information on various schemes of the state and central government. They will also offer assistance of market linkages for industrial set-up and channels for finance assistance availability to the interested investors. Also, brochures and booklets highlighting policies-schemes of the state, online facilities and e-portal assistance will be made available to the investors.
Addressing the meeting, Patel said that MSME offers equal contributions for the industrial development of the state just like bigger industries. More than six lakh MSMEs are registered in the state which provide employments to about 39 lakh people. Small and medium industries are the key factor for the industrial development of the state and the state government is constantly trying to help strengthen the industries.
She expressed firm commitment to solving the problems of industries through MSME Advisory Board. She also made four important decisions for the development of MSME in the state. They include extending the period of getting ‘consent to establish’ from Gujarat Pollution Control Board from five to seven years.
Industries which do not fall in green category as per environmental status, can submit self-certified annual compliance report.
