IECM all set to host DelhiWood 2017The India Expo Centre and Mart (IECM) in Greater Noida is fast becoming a hub of large-scale industry specific fairs and exhibits in the Delhi-NCR region and touted as the next replacement of capital’s trade fair.

After the successful hosting of Indian Gifts and Handicrafts Fair (IGHF) from Feb 16-20, the IECM is all set to host the fifth edition of the woodworking industry’s biennial event, DelhiWood 2017 to be held the IECM in Greater Noida from March 1-4.

Here, more than 450 exhibitors from over 30 countries will showcase modern technologies, machinery, tools, fittings, accessories, raw materials and products for furniture production and wood-based manufacturing, housed in a whopping 30,000 square metres of space.

Participating pavilions from countries like Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Russia, Taiwan, Turkey and USA will showcase over 200 new products along with small furniture manufacturers, carpenters and craftsmen by Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC).

“Delhi-NCR being home to the country’s largest timber market, the fair at Greater Noida will be a natural habitat for architects and designers. We look forward to welcoming more than 10,000 visitors from Delhi/ NCR region,” said Siva Kumar V, General Manager, PDA Trade Fairs that organised DelhiWood 2017 with the support of Eumabois – the 14-country federation of European woodworking machinery manufacturers.

While the growth of technology and its applications in furniture manufacturing as well as woodworking sector is touted as one major achievements of the show, skill development of SMEs, carpenters and craftsmen will also be actively addressed in the current edition of fair at Expo Mart.

“FFSC will be conducting a four-day orientation programme for SMEs, carpenters and craftsmen at the event. We are expecting more than 30,000 visitors to DelhiWood 2017 from pan India,” added Kumar V. According to Kumar, while the fair comes at a growth of 40 %, it will entail over 60 % international exhibits.
